Night Owl

its that time of the year. the time in which we've pushed back our clocks, lose sunlight and register for classes. i'm excited for next semester. does that make me a nerd? or perhaps just an asshole? i'm not sure, but i know i prefer night classes. people are less focused on socializing and more on the material. i can sit singularly, no one will bother me and concentrate on the professor. does that make me a hermit?
last semester i had two three hour classes two nights a week. it was pretty tiring, but i really liked it. then again, i was also having sex last semester. so, that theory can be thrown out the window.

nights are often times that i look foward to the most. riding the bus (im from queens, what do you expect?), listening to my ipod, stretching my legs out waiting for the driver to pull into the south campus lot. the breeze smells especially nice when its cool and reminiscent of summer to come, unlike the unforgiving winter. needless to say, i'm much of an night owl, although i love sleep. i stay up late just to draw or write and formulate inner workings of my brain, hopefully sprouting new ideas for creation. Its very young frankenstein-ish i suppose. but, its the times that i love the most, especially in the city, when things really dont sleep. they come out at night because they too, love the solidarity and single cup servings of peace offered up at night.

i dont have classes too late in the evening next semester, that kind of disappoints me, but i really couldnt fit them in. nonetheless, im taking a history course called "death in america." its going to be bitchin'.
